I was thinking about making my first installment on this site a comparison of Matt Clement and
Pedro Martinez through the first half of this season, but I'm not so sure about that now. From April through June, Clement
matched up pretty well with Pedro. The former Cub isn't the dominant presence Martinez is, but he also isn't costing the Sox
15 million dollars a year. However, Clement got pounded on July 1 at Fenway, and he has a reputation as a first half
pitcher. Maybe I should hold off on the lofty comparisons for the moment.
